CLAT 2019 Provisional Answer Key released – Calculate CLAT Score

CLAT 2019 is being conducted by The National Law University Odisha (NLU Odisha, Cuttack) in the second week of May 2019. CLAT Entrance Exam is one of the flagship law entrance exam in India. Every year thousands of aspirants prepared for clat exam. For 2019, there are around 40,000 aspirants has filled the CLAT Application form so far. In this article, we shall discuss the CLAT provisional answer key.

The National Law University Odisha (NLU Odisha, Cuttack) announced earlier that the answer key will be released in the second week of May 2019, and now the wait for both UG and PG entrants is over.

The provisional answer key for CLAT 2019 has been released and can be viewed on the CLAT official page. The page clat.ac.in contains a link to the answer key on the top right side of the page under the heading ‘Important Links’. Not everyone can view the answer key and it is only available for students. Therefore, you need your registered login id and password to access the key.

The CLAT 2019 Answer key is in the PDF format and can be downloaded on the system. For downloading the PDF file you need an Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Once the file is downloaded, you can check which answers were correct and which were not and calculate the approximate number of marks you will obtain. I reiterate that this is just the provisional answer key and not the final one.

CLAT Provisional Answer Key

The final CLAT answer key will come out in the second week of May 2019 and the time period between can be and has to be utilised in making a representation in two cases. A representation can be made in the first case when the question itself is wrong and in the second case when you are sure of the answer and want to convey that the answer provided in the key is wrong.

In the case of a wrong question what happens is that every entrant is awarded one mark or the question is not counted and everyone gets a zero for that question. The aim is to make sure that a question which is wrong does not affect the results. An example of a wrong question could be when all answers to the said questions are wrong or when there is a misprint and maybe two answers are identical.

What happens when an answer is wrong is that the answer will be corrected by the time it is time for the final answer key. You can raise objections online between May 17-May 19, 2019. Once the objections are received then an expert panel will sit to decide what is to be done and no further action will be taken until all doubts are resolved.

Point to note is that your response sheet will be displayed against the CLAT Answer Key. The green mark means your answer is correct and the red mark says that the answer is incorrect. Count one additional mark per correct answer and a -. 25 mark for every incorrect answer and then have a look at the cutoffs from last year and judge for yourself whether you would clear the exams and if yes then which college can you get based on your score and which college you would like to go for if given a choice. The cut-offs being provided by coaching institutions may be useless for the purpose of ascertaining whether or not you’ll make it.

CLAT Score – how to calculate CLAT Score

150 correct answers- is 150* 1=150 marks

25 answers blank is 25*0=0 marks

25 wrong answers is – (25*.25) = -6.25 The total score is 143.75 marks

The results will be declared in the end of May 2019 and then the merit lists will be released in the first week of June. The entire admission procedure should be done with by July.
