AILET Eligibility Criteria
All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) was annually conducted by National Law University Delhi. NLU will be announcing eligibility criteria of AILET 2018 for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. AILET 2018 eligibility criteria will mention minimum academic qualification and age required for applying for the NLU Delhi regulated law entrance test. Candidates are advised to check the AILET eligibility conditions before filling in the application forms as their candidature may get cancelled in case they will be found ineligible for the admissions.
NLU Delhi conducts this law entrance exam every year to fill the 83 BA.LLB Hons. seats being offered by this college. Out of these 83 seats there is a reservation of 10 seats for foreign nationals. The seats for foreign nationals are filled by merit as well but these foreign nationals do not have to appear for the law entrance exam. The students who clear this AILET exam 2018 are eligible to gain admission in NLU Delhi and its affiliated colleges.
AILET Eligibility Criteria – Educational Criteria
The candidates should have cleared the grade XII exam or senior secondary exam which is the qualifying exam. Moreover, the students should have obtained a min. score of 50% in the qualifying law entrance exam.
Students who are appearing in the qualifying or grade XII exam in the month of March or April 2018 also fulfill the AILET eligibility criteria 2018 subject to their clearing the qualifying exam and obtaining a min. score of 50% therein.
AILET Eligibility Criteria – Age Criteria
Point to be noted regarded the age limit criteria is that there will be no age limit when one is planning to appear for AILET exam 2018. This is as per the Supreme court’s directive on the subject of age limit for those appearing for the exam and this no age limit decision is therefore subject to the final decision of the supreme court.
Earlier the bar council of India had revised the age limit and made it such that only students who were below the age of 20 years as on July1,2018 could apply. This maximum age limit for SC and ST candidates was 22 years as on July1, 2018. This was the AILET eligibility criteria earlier before the Supreme court’s new directive which will now be part of AILET eligibility criteria 2018 To gain further information on this subject one should contact the convening body which is NLU Delhi.
AILET Eligibility Criteria : Appearing – in Eligibility
The last thing to remember about the AILET eligibility criteria is that those who are appearing in the qualifying exam in 2018 would be given a conditional admission in case they clear the AILET exam 2018 and their admission would be deemed permanent only when they obtain a min. score of 50% in their qualifying exam failing which their admission to a law college will be canceled even if they clear the entrance and then it would be deemed that the candidates did not fulfill the AILET eligibility criteria 2018.
