NCHMCT JEE Exam Pattern



The National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) will soon be releasing the application form for selection of candidates to its affiliated and participating institutes of Hotel Management and Catering. The candidates often tend to be more in confusion over the examination scheme to be followed by the NCHMCT for selection purpose. In the following article about the NCHM JEE Exam Pattern, we shall be discussing the examination scheme to be followed by the NCHMCT for selection of candidates. We shall also be discussed as to the importance of topics and sections asked in the examination.

Features of the NCHM JEE Exam Pattern

The following points consists of the examination scheme to be followed by the NCHMCT for selection of candidates for the programme of Hotel Management –

  • The Mode of the NCHM JEE Examination is the Online Mode. The candidates will have to online form for that purpose.
  • There will be 200 questions in the examination only in the objective mode. There will be NO descriptive questions in the examination.
  • The duration of the written examination will be of 03 hours. No candidates will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the time for the session.
  • The timing for the examination will be standard i.e., 10 am to 1 pm. The NCHM will be conducting the examination for the selection at 33 centers across the country. However, the candidates will be asked for their choice of exam centers.

NCHM Exam Pattern – Marking Scheme

Check out the marking scheme followed by the NCHMCT for NCHM JEE Exam 2019 –

  • All the correct answers will be awarded 1 Mark each.
  • For the wrong attempts, there will be a deduction of ¼ of the Mark allotted for the question equal to 0.25 Marks.
  • For the Service Sector Aptitude section, there is NO negative marking.
The marking scheme for Service Sector Aptitude of NCHM JEE 2019 will be done as under-
  • 1 mark – Most appropriate
  • 0.75 marks – Next most appropriate
  • 0.50 marks – Next to next most appropriate
  • 0.25 marks – least appropriate/ Negative marking for inappropriate option
