Exam pattern of the IP University BCA entrance exam
IP University will be conducting Common Entrance Test (CET) for BCA 2020 at various exam centres. Students interested in pursuing Bachelors of Computer Application (BCA) from colleges affiliated to the Indraprastha University will have to appear in a common entrance test (CET) and should fill IPU BCA Application Form before April 2020. The exam will take place in May 2020.
The bachelor of computer applications (BCA) course being offered by the IP University is for grade XII pass out students and for those who are three-year diploma holders in any branch of engineering. The prospects of BCA course are careers in software development, web design, or employment in computer hardware. IT companies offer jobs to BCA students as project managers and system managers.

All exam pattern details are as follows:
Offline exam
The exam will be conducted on the pen paper or offline format. The exam is not going to be conducted online. Students have to mark answers on the OMR sheet provided to them. Marking more than one option will be considered as a wrong answer and negative marking will be applicable in such cases.
English paper
The language of the paper will be English alone.
Multiple choice objective paper
The IPU CET BCA question pattern is such that all the questions are in the multiple choice and objective format and there will be four answers given for every question and students have to mark the choice they think is correct.
Blue or black ballpoint pen
Answers have to be marked on the OMR sheet using blue or black ball point pen only.
Marks and time per section
The following table will depict the marks distribution of various subjects covered in this entrance exam, and the time you should allocate for each section.

Percentagewise weightage of sections:
If percentage wise distribution of marks was to be taken into account there is 30% weightage for Maths and computer awareness each, 25% weightage for general awareness related to IT and science and 15% weightage for English.
This information implies :
(a) One minute per question
There are 150 questions to be solved in 150 minutes which means there is one minute per question.
(b) Total number of marks
The total number of marks is 600 which implies that every question is worth 4 marks.
(c) Negative Marking
Last, of all, there is also negative marking. For every incorrect answer, the student loses 1 mark.
