
Hotel Management is one of the promising courses in present time. The students who are thinking of their career in Hospitality and Hotel Management need to qualify 10+2 examination by recognized institutes. National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) covers almost 52 institutes of hotel management all over India that includes 16 Central Institutes, 21 State Institutes and 15 Private Institutes. NCHMCT is affiliated to Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Among the 21 IHM’s, it covers the IHM, Srinagar too. The vision to establish IHM, Srinagar was to provide and promote hospitality education, training to under privilege and development of human resources in J&K particularly.

- Students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with English as the core subject.
- The student must be 22 years of age in case of General/OBC and 25 years in case of SC/ST/PD.
The fees of the Application form are:
Online Mode: General/ OBC – Rs. 800 SC/ST/PD – Rs. 400
Offline Mode: General/OBC – Rs.900 SC/ST/PD – Rs. 450
The exam is conducted in offline mode only and students are required to bring 2 copy of their admit card to the exam Centre. The exam carries 200 questions with 1 mark for each question. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and is divided into 5 sections. The sections are listed below:

- General Knowledge and Current Events
- English language
- Aptitude for Service Sector
