NLU Delhi’s AILET
exam is nearing and this article contains AILET
exam pattern and syllabus
details. NLU Delhi  is one such national law school that is not
affiliated to CLAT and does not take into account CLAT scores to offer
admission to its BA.LLB course. Instead this college conducts its own law entrance exam which is called AILET
or all India law entrance test.

and syllabus 2018
are as follows:
  • Offline law entrance exam also means that you will have to be present at the venue which has been assigned to you on the date and at the time specified on the admit card.
  • The AILET exam pattern and syllabus 2018 is such that it will be conducted in English language only
  • AILET  exam 2018 will last for 1.5 hours which means 90 minutes.
  • During this time you will have to solve 150 multiple choice questions.
  • There is one mark for every correct answer and there is no negative marking. The maximum marks are 150.

syllabus of the AILET exam 2018.

AILET Syllabus – English

  • Reading comprehension that checks one’s speed of reading, and checks one’s ability to promptly answer questions that are based on the passage
  • Synonyms and antonyms and fill in the blanks- These test your vocabulary.
  • Idioms and phrases- Test of your in depth knowledge of the language.
  • Jumble words and sentences- Test your in depth knowledge of the language and ease of maneuvering different questions aimed at exploring your knowledge of the language
  • Grammar- Finding errors, and correcting grammar mistakes.
  • The toughness level of these questions will be upto the level of grade X

AILET Syllabus – General Knowledge

  • ·        
    All current affairs of the entire year
    preceding the exam happening at both national and international level.
  • ·        
    Static GK topics are history,
    geography, general science, economics, and civics of the nation.
  • ·        
    Focus on UN bodies, their
    Headquarters, functioning, aim, membership and more, eminent personalities, environment
    related news and pacts, and awards and awardees.

AILET Syllabus – Basic Maths  

Profit and loss, Speed and distance, Time and work, Algebra, Average, Permutation  and combination, and venn diagrams.
The level of the questions will be upto what one studies till grade X.

AILET Syllabus – Legal aptitude

Most questions in this section will check your legal aptitude and there will be principles given which you have to apply to facts to arrive at the correct option or answer.

The principles might not be actual legal principles and you have to assume they are true and then apply the same.

Basic knowledge of torts- vicarious liability and strict liability, Indian penal code- definitions of offences, and contracts, constitutional basics, principles of international law, latest legal case laws and their decisions and their judgments.

AILET Syllabus – Logical Reasoning

Completion of series, logic based questions on relations between family members, sense of direction based logic questions, syllogisms and analogies.
